Our Story

Rooted in conversations, driven by purpose — the journey of Vendoor.

Vendoor was born out of the streets — not from a boardroom, but from conversations with the very vendors who line our neighborhoods with color, culture, and community. It all started with a simple question: “How can we help local vendors thrive in a digital world?”

We spoke with fruit sellers who push their carts daily, store owners who know every face on their lane, and food stall vendors whose snacks define street corners. They had something in common — a desire to grow their reach, connect with new-age customers, and still retain the simplicity of their operations.

“If it's easy to use and brings us more customers, we’re ready for it,” one vendor told us. That sentence stayed with us. It became our blueprint.

We didn’t start with assumptions. We started by listening. Vendors told us they were ready for change — but the solutions needed to be made for them. That meant removing barriers: complicated signups, confusing dashboards, and language limitations.

And so, we built Vendoor — a platform that’s as simple as it is powerful. With just a few taps, vendors can create their shop, list products, and start receiving orders from customers nearby. Whether they run a fixed kirana store or a mobile cart that travels daily, Vendoor adapts to their workflow.

One of our biggest learnings was the importance of language. Many vendors we met were eager to onboard but hesitant due to English-only interfaces. We responded by introducing regional language support in the app, so every vendor — regardless of literacy level — can navigate, manage, and succeed on Vendoor independently.

On the customer side, we focused on hyperlocal discovery. The people who want to support local — to order that fresh sabzi from the cart nearby or grab homemade snacks from a vendor two lanes over — finally have a tool that lets them do it seamlessly.

Vendoor today is more than just an app. It’s a digital bridge between people and their trusted local sellers. It’s a movement to bring offline vendors into the online economy — with dignity, autonomy, and simplicity.

We are continuously improving, adding feedback loops, and learning from every vendor who joins us. As our network grows, so does our purpose: to make sure every local vendor in India — no matter how small — has a chance to be seen, to grow, and to thrive in the digital era.

This is just the beginning. Our story is being written every day by the vendors who believed in the idea — and by customers who choose to shop local.
